REPLY TO JONATHAN FRANZEN: Some “Serious”Writers Do Like (and Use) Amazon!

In spite of what Jonathan Franzen maintains, Amazon DOES provide an avenue for authors of even perhaps “quality” literature

A new model: Amazon (and CreateSpace for paperbacks) provide a great avenue for promising writers, who prefer to maintain control of their books in the new vista of self publishing.   And we writers know how hard it is to get published in today’s very tough environment by main-stream publishers. Traditional publishers (“the dinosaurs of the digital age”) are feeling the heat and merging at a great pace. So Jeff Bezos and Amazon (thanks Jeff) offer an innovative  opportunity (route) for writers with imagination who may want to write quality books (and perhaps even “great” literature??).

As in life, the choice is up to us which path to follow…. and I love the road less travelled.
